For women only
Dominique Jeanneret, swiss and canadian therapist, et Ven. Omalpe Sobhita Thero, Buddhist Monk, are inviting you to join them in Sri Lanka from February 8 to 22, 2017.
The trip begins with a 3 days-visit of the country to discover the cultural, touristic and spiritual scene, enjoy the life in the mountains and by the sea, the kindness of Sri Lanka inhabitants and the typical « rice and curry » meal as well as discovering the fauna and flora of Sri Lanka, elephants in sight !
We will then spend two days/nights at Embilipitiya buddhist monastery with Ven. Omalpe Sobhita Thero where we will meet with monks and novices (little monks). We will take part in spiritual activities with the monks including the monthly Poya day celebration on February 11th, 2017, day of the full moon which is a public holiday every month in Sri Lanka.
We will then stop for 7 days for a yoga and meditation retreat in a meditation centre in the mountains south of the island. You will receive teachings of the Buddhist way of life to be happy. You will practice yoga and meditation and use that time to find and replenish yourself. Ven. Omalpe Sobhita Thero, boudhist monk and founder of the meditation center, will be our guide and teacher for that stay.
After the retreat, we will travel to Adam’s Peak (Sripada) to discover Sri Lanka from the mountain tops and then, we will go to Kandy, the capital, to give offerings to Buddha at the majestic Buddha’s Tooth Temple.
All transportation will be in minibus with air conditioning. We will stay in pleasant and simple hotels. We will eat local meals which are mainly vegetarian.
Join us for 15 days to let go, appreciate the “here and now”
and let peace and joy guide our tour between sea and mountains.
* Everybody is very welcome even if you do not practice yoga.

In the evening, after super, we will have conferences (Dhamma talks), teachings, discussions and meditation practices with Ven. Omalpe Sobhita Thero.
If you do not want to attend the yoga sessions, you are welcome but you need to participate in the other activities which is important for the cohesion and the progression of the group during the retreat.
NOTE : At the meditation center, we are far from everything. You have to think about bringing all of the things you need for 7 days. Of course, if an emergency should arise, transportation will be available to go to the village.
Some pictures of this journey
Philosophy of this journey
Buddha’s philosophy rests on how to be happy and stay in that state. One of the basis of this doctrine is that we are 100 % responsible of what we are living. To this effect, members of the group commit themselves in that journey to be 100 % responsible of themselves and to be open to live a fully peaceful, positive and joyful experience.
All the trip will be in english. If some participants don’t speak enough english, Dominique will translate in french.
From Switzerland, born in Liberia in 1962, Dominique immigrated in Québec in 1986. She grew up in a family that worked in a medical and social field. At a very young age she is curious and passionate by health and well being, psychology and spirituality, energies, travels, exchanges and sharing.
A major road accident brought her into a near death experience (NDE) in 1976. This brought her even further in the path of holistic health along with developing mediumship, intuitive energetic and psychological skills that she has given freely until 2006.
She then earned a degree in psychocorporal therapy at the Institut de psychothérapie corporelle intégrée (PCI) in 2006, in polarity from Turya Centre (Andrea Jutras) in 1994. She also received teachings from different Quebec teachers, Canada First Nations medicine man and women and buddhists teachers.
Dominique has spent three months in India and in Sri Lanka in 1982. She went back to Sri Lanka in 2015 to cohost a 10 days-workshop with a group. She met a buddhist monk, Kusala Thero, after arriving at Balapitiya. She decided then to stay 3 months in Sri Lanka, with Thero and other monks in other places in the country. She also taught to young monks and teenagers in schools.
Sumitra is Dominique’s friend living in Sri Lanka, a beautiful wise women. She is srilankan and has lived in Los Angeles for 20 years where she owned and taught in a Montessori school before retiring and coming back to live in Sri Lanka a few years ago.
Sumitra also loves traveling and she offered to accompany us. It is a privilege and joy that she will come and share her knowledge about the srilankan culture and the buddhist world. Dominique learned a lot about country’s culture and buddhism from her. Sumitra will also be our link with the srilankan people who does not speak english because Dominique does not speak cinghaleese, the official language in this part of Sri Lanka.
